the Rain Harvester project

The Rain Harvester project came to existist from a partnership between the IDEASS projects course at the University of California Santa Cruz and a local engineer. By harvesting and using the rain, the Rain Harvester Project will reduce the demand for potable city water, reduce storm water pollution, and increase the communities prepardness for natural disasters; fire, earthquake, etc.

Safe Rain Harvesting, see the 8 Principles for Successful Rainwater Harvesting , can save tens of thousands of gallons of potable water.
